Structure and Morphology Properties of Nanoparticle Hematite Pigment from Lathe Waste

Hematite coated PEG was synthesized by the sonication-calcination method. A variation of Na2CO3 is investigated to know effect on structure and morphology. Characterization samples are using X-ray fluorescence, diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy, color reader techniques. XRF data showed that iron highest element in precursor. The diffraction confirm Fe(OH)3, α-FeOOH, Fe3O4 established at sonication stage then transformed into α-Fe2O3 phase after calcination. also found 0.5 M formed with crystallinity degree. scanning microscopy particle's shape spherical, bar-shaped, aggregate. However, distribution particles not uniform still displays agglomeration. Color shows degree lightness obtained 1 variation.
